Migrating from Wix: a website you own, on hosting you choose
Wix is a quick way to get a site online. But the site never quite becomes yours: it runs only on Wix, and there is no way to take it with you. We rebuild it as a modern website that belongs to you — same domain, your content moved over, search rankings protected — and teach you to change it yourself with AI, as easily as in the editor.
Why businesses leave Wix
- The site runs only on Wix: you can't download it and host it anywhere else.
- Your own domain works only on a paid Wix plan, for as long as the site exists.
- Features the editor lacks come as App Market apps, often with subscriptions of their own.
- Pages assembled in a visual editor get heavy and can be slow on phones.
- The bigger the site grows, the harder it becomes to leave.
Why moving from Wix means a rebuild
Wix does not export sites. There is no file to download and put on another host, so leaving Wix always means rebuilding the site somewhere else. That is less work than it sounds, and it is the better outcome anyway: we recreate your pages and design on a clean foundation, move your texts, images and products, and you end up with a site that is easier to change than the one you had.
What you get
- A modern, fast website built for phones first.
- Code, hosting and domain in accounts registered to you, so you can move them whenever you like.
- A simple foundation that AI understands well, without an editor or app add-ons.
- Your forms, payments and analytics connected on the new site.
- The search engine basics in place: page titles, descriptions, a sitemap.
- One-on-one AI training, so you edit and extend the site yourself with Claude Code.
- Bonus: an AI automation plan for the rest of your business.
What stays the same
- Your domain. If you bought it through Wix, it can be transferred to a registrar in your own name; we walk you through it.
- Your content: pages, texts, images, blog posts and products move over. Anything that changes is agreed with you first.
- Your search rankings: each old Wix address is redirected to its new page, so Google and your visitors land in the right place.
- Your email: we check where your mailboxes live before the domain is switched, so mail keeps arriving.
How the move works
Analysis
We go through your Wix pages, apps, forms and analytics, and list what moves as it is and what is worth doing better.
Concept
We agree on the structure, the look and what changes, before anything is built.
Build and move
We build the new site, move the content, set up redirects for every changed address and switch your domain over. Your Wix site keeps working until the switch.
Training
About three one-hour one-on-one sessions on your own site, until editing it with AI feels natural.
Price
$450 on the Solo plan, fixed, whatever the size of the site. It usually takes two to four weeks, is paid upfront, and you get a 100% refund on request. If several people will update the site, the Team plan trains up to 15 of them for $1,900. Once the new site is live you can cancel your Wix plan; from then on you pay for hosting and the domain directly, in your own name.

Frequently asked questions
Can I export my Wix site and host it elsewhere?
No. Wix does not offer an export of the site itself, so it can only run on Wix. Moving away means rebuilding the site, which is what we do, keeping your design and content.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the move is done carefully. We map every old Wix address to its new page and set up permanent redirects, so the value your pages have built up carries over.
My domain was bought through Wix. Can I keep it?
Yes. A domain registered through Wix can be transferred to another registrar in your own name. We help you through the transfer, and the domain stays the same for your customers.
What about my online store or bookings?
Products and their photos move to the new site. For bookings, payments and other Wix apps, we agree during the analysis what replaces each one, so nothing your customers use disappears.
How much does it cost and how long does it take?
$450 on the Solo plan, fixed, whatever the size of the site. Usually two to four weeks, with a 100% refund on request.
