Moving off Lovable: your app, on a foundation you own
Lovable is a great way to get an app working. Many founders then hit the same wall: credits spent on fixes that break something else, features the platform makes hard, and an app that lives on someone else's infrastructure. You can take the code with you. What usually needs work is everything underneath it. We rebuild your app on a foundation you own, move your users and data, and teach you to keep building it with AI.
Signs it is time to move
- You spend more credits going in circles than moving forward.
- The next feature you need is one the platform makes hard.
- Your data and users sit in accounts you do not fully control.
- The app slows down or breaks as more people use it.
- You want to work on it with a coding assistant, in a project of your own.
What exporting gives you, and what it does not
Lovable lets you sync your code to GitHub, and from there it is a standard web app you can host anywhere. The backend is separate: the database, user accounts and file storage live in Lovable Cloud or in a Supabase project, and they have to be moved and set up again on their own.
The code itself also comes out exactly as the builder produced it. If the problems were in its structure — access rules, error handling, a data model nobody designed — they move with it. That is why we rebuild instead of copying: your app's screens and flows stay, the foundation under them is new.
How it works
Analysis
We go through your app, its data and its backend, and list what works, what is broken and what is risky.
Keep what works
Your design, flows and wording carry over. We agree with you on anything that changes, and why.
Rebuild the foundation
Authentication, a database with proper access rules, payments, email and hosting — in accounts registered to you, not to a platform or to us.
Move users and data
Existing users and data move to the new app. If a login method has to change, we plan it with you so nobody is locked out.
Switch over on your domain
The new app goes live on the same domain, and the old one stays available until you are sure.
Training
About three one-hour one-on-one sessions, so you keep building the app with Claude Code — small, checked changes on a foundation that holds.
What you get
- Your app in your own accounts: code, hosting, database, domain.
- Your users and data, moved over.
- A foundation designed for real users, not for a demo.
- The skills to keep building it with AI, without a platform in between.
The same applies to apps built with Bolt, Replit or v0. These guides go deeper:
Price
On the Solo plan the move is $450, fixed, whatever the size of the app: the analysis, the new foundation, moving users and data, and one-on-one training. It usually takes two to four weeks, is paid upfront, and you get a 100% refund on request. If several people will keep building the app, the Team plan trains up to 15 of them for $1,900. Hosting, the domain and AI subscriptions are paid by you, in your own name.
Frequently asked questions
Can't I just export to GitHub and host it myself?
You can, and for a simple app that may be enough. The app then runs somewhere else, but nothing about its structure changes; if the problems were in the foundation, they come along.
Will my users have to sign up again?
No. Existing users and data move to the new app. If a login method has to change, we plan it with you so nobody is locked out.
Can I keep my design?
Yes. Your Lovable app is the blueprint: the screens, flows and wording carry over.
Can I keep building it with AI afterwards?
Yes, that is the point. You learn to keep changing it with Claude Code in your own project: small changes, checked and published safely.
How much does it cost?
$450 on the Solo plan, fixed, whatever the size of the app, or $1,900 on the Team plan for up to 15 people.
